First of all, I would like to tell you about the original Smoked Fashioned version which is the classic Old Fashioned.
The Old Fashioned is a cocktail made by muddling (mashing) sugar with bitters, then adding alcohol, such as whiskey or brandy, and a twist of citrus rind. It is traditionally served in a short, round, tumbler-like glass, which is called an Old Fashioned glass, named after the drink.
The Old Fashioned, developed during the 19th century and given its name in the 1880s, is an IBA Official Cocktail. It is also one of six basic drinks listed in David A. Embury’sThe Fine Art of Mixing Drinks.
One day at work I was thinking how can be The Old Fashioned more tasteful with the modern sign inside but at the same time still classy. The decision was easy like a Sunday morning! I used my favorite Whiskey Laphroaig instead of bourbon and I made the perfect drink. I called Smoked Fashioned because of the peaty, smoky whiskey flavor.
